A few weeks ago I shared two beautiful basses by Andrew Hassel of Chicago Bass Works that were in the shop. We had previously helped match one of Andrew’s basses with a talented college student so we were excited to have his next two instruments in the shop. When I saw them and played them, my initial reaction was that they were fantastic instruments that represented a clear evolution in Andrew’s making. Apparently my opinion was shared by a local professional musician who bought one of them just two days later, and is also shared by a talented young musician who has now claimed the other one!
